Tango Extremo
Tango Extremo is a group around violinist Tanya Schaap. The group, originally founded as a trio in 2003, with the aforementioned Tanya, further consisted of Rob van Kreefeld on piano and Sandor Kem on double bass. The group's repertoire is very broad and very special in its style. Their style include classical music, jazz and Brazilian music all combined with "tango nuevo". Later the group specialized in the music of the Argentine Río de la Plata area.
Tango Extremo
Tango Extremo is the group's first LP after 7 CDs and performances on almost all Dutch stages and many foreign performances. The LP contains 8 compositions that in some cases have been edited in a new arrangement. Tanya Schaap on violin, Ban van den Dungen on soprano saxophone (beautiful sound), Hans van Maas on accordion and Rob van Kreefeld on piano. If you are a visitor to the Xifi in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, then you have certainly heard Rob play once. 8 excellent compositions in the infectious 'tango nuevo' genre recorded live at the Speeldoos, Baarn, The Netherlands.
Rating
Yes it is a digital recording. An 8 channel Audio Development mixer AD 255, an 88.2 - 24 bit, 24 channel Alesis, Siltech microphone cables, Schoeps MK21 microphones were used. Two LCM-3 microphones developed by Mazenier Electronics were used to reproduce the room properly. Pressing at Optimal Germany, Mastering Peter Brussee from QPoint and Metal Mastering by Günter Pauler. The result is an extremely dynamic live recording, the space can almost be felt, lots of details of strings, pedals and keys. I would say if you still have faith in streaming, play this.
