All times big band
The All times big band has been around for about 40 years and plays big band music of all times (as the name suggests). They play music from Miller, Basie, Gershwin, Ellington but also Zawinul and Hancock.
Gert and Arianne Aartsen have recently left the band and they have changed orchestra leader. Vocal and own arrangements of the various orchestra leaders are also part of the repertoire.
The Crimson Investigation
I date from the time (born in 1957) when dance lessons were a mandatory part of your upbringing. When listening to and judging this music, we also ventured some dance steps. The compositions of Rodgers, Ellington, Gershwin and Porter also encourage this. Just try to sit still with It don't mean a thing, Mack the knife of Sway by Pablo Beltrán Ruíz. I can't. I'll be right back in the time of the Chachacha, Slow Foxtrot or Quickstep.
Review
Despite the large line-up of trumpets, trombones, saxophones, vocals, drums, piano, bass and guitar, every instrument can be followed. Nice and spacious and perfectly recorded and placed voices of Hans Beckeringh and Marjoleine Leene. I really enjoy this. Grand, spacious, detail.
